Membership Covenant

I, (name of person), now enter into covenant relationship with my brothers and sisters in Christ to commit myself as an active and supportive member of D.O.V.E. Community Church. I promise to live and speak in agreement with the doctrines specified in the Statement of Faith and taught in Biblical Foundations. I affirm the mission and vision of this church. I have read, understand, and agree to uphold the By-laws and Core Values of D.O.V.E. Community.

I recognize that the primary purpose of the leadership ministry of this congregation is to expand the Kingdom of God. Included in that purpose is the responsibility to train and mature me to do the work of the ministry. It is also part of the leadership’s responsibility to help me identify my spiritual gifts. And it is my responsibility to put those gifts to use by serving the Body of Christ. I recognize the authority of the leadership ministry of this congregation in my life as called of God to lead, teach, counsel, and if need be, to admonish me that I might be conformed to the image of Christ and to live my life as a Spirit-led believer.

I will support this congregation at all times by my attitude, speech, attendance, prayers, and in tithes and offerings so that we may participate in the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

I accept the responsibility as “my brother’s keeper”; seeking out opportunities to comfort, encourage, and admonish those in my relationship field (cell group) with the love of God. I will work at maintaining honest and open relationships with the congregation, making them my spiritual family in deed and not just in word. I will strive to be a friend rather than only seeking friendship, to give love rather than only receiving love, to serve rather than expecting to be served. I agree also to “submit one to another” that I may receive as well as give both encouragement and counsel from my spiritual family.

I will use my words to build rather than to destroy this fellowship and will refuse to ally myself with the “accuser of the brethren” by spreading gossip and contention in the congregation. I will strive to settle any and all differences, misunderstandings or points of conflict that I may have with any member or decision of this congregation in a timely and biblical manner.

If God calls me out of this congregation into another ministry or geographical region I will earnestly seek the counsel and prayers of the elders and my cell family to help me confirm His will and timing. As a Kingdom builder I place significant value on being sent from the congregation to my new assignment with a blessing, leaving intact my covenant relationships.

By the grace of God I will fulfill this brotherly agreement in order that the Kingdom of God will continue to expand until the day Christ returns for His church and proclaims our work complete.
