This year we will continue to focus our attention outward toward community transformation and global matters concerning the Kingdom of God. We will work with area churches in continuing to develop the Presence in the Park ministry as well as finding others ways in which we can partner together. Our church is dedicated to supporting PTC Youth Services, Inc as a local mission through finances and volunteers. In addition, we will continue to support our mission schools both in Africa and Haiti.

This year we will look toward our future by discovering and developing young leadership.

There is a season coming upon us of Clarity, Simplicity and Joy.  We have recognized the spiritual strongholds of the land of Slumber, Death and Ishmael and will continue to actively wage war against them by strengthening and preparing the saints for the work of service…Eph 4:11-16

Monte and Sondra Jones

Monte is founder and current pastor of DOVE Community Church in Red Lion and a Prophetic Five-fold minister in DCFI. Recently he has joined the Apostolic Team in Canada. Prior to being in ministry his history includes 20 years as an Operations Manager and 4 years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era as an Aviation Electronics Technician. His past community service includes coaching girls softball and basketball, an EMT and emergency vehicle driver for station 58 in New Freedom, board member for the Red Lion Youth Center and board member of the Red Lion Redevelopment Commission. Presently, Monte is a board member for York County ACTION, serves as president of PTC Youth Services, Inc., a current member the Red Lion Area Business Association and is the current chairperson of the Red Lion Area Evangelical Ministers Alliance. He loves the outdoors: camping, hiking, fishing, kayaking and playing with his Australian sheepdog, in the back yard. He enjoys his aquarium that is stocked with a host of community type fish. The most recent addition to his activities is a 1999 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1500 – and is a member of the York Chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Association.

He has been pastoring full time since 1994. He served Harvest Christian Fellowship as an Associate Pastor for four years in Shrewsbury, Pa. Ministry licenses have been held with Elim Fellowship in Lima, NY. and currently with DOVE Christian Fellowship International as an ordained minister. Educational training includes Business and Personnel Management with Essex Community College and a certificated training course with Chesapeake Theological Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland.

Monte recently received his Personal Training Certificate from ISSA (International Sports Science Association. His private business is Transforming Bodies, and was employed at HardKohr Sports and Fitness in York , PA as head of the Personal Training Department. He is currently the Fitness Director with Anytime Fitness in Red Lion, PA.

Sondra Jones

Sondra has played a supportive role in the ministry and in the success of her husband and in DOVE Community Church. She has sacrificed much of her life to raise their children and to support the ministry by both serving in various ministries and in giving of her finances. Sondra’s main gifts are in serving, discernment and mercy. She has helped many people with her skills in budget counseling. Over the years Sondra has held positions in both the legal and medical fields as a transcriptionist.  She has work as the supervisor for  the PA Branch for Swept Away Cleaning Services – a post construction cleaning business started by her sister Patti in Baltimore. Currently she works for CrossMark as a product representative in Walmart Stores.  Sondra loves to sew, walk, exercise, the beach and camping (not in a tent).

Monte and Sondra minister together as trained RTF prophetic prayer ministers and are certified budget counselors with Crown Ministries. They are currently helping to give oversight to DOVE Freedom Ministries along with Nelson and Sue Martin.

They were married in July of 1977 (you do the math) and have 3 daughters: Miki, Kimberly and Jenne.

Vicente Gomez

Vincent and Heather Gomez

Vince has been with DOVE Community Church since 2001. He came to know the Lord when visiting a home cell group meeting. He acquired a B.S. degree in Health Science at St. Francis College, PA, worked on an associates degree in Graphic Design and is a graduate of DCFI’s Church Planting and Leadership School. Vince served our country in the Army Reserves for 8 years and is currently employed in York as a graphic illustrator.

Over the years Vince has served with DOVE as a youth leader and is currently on the worship team, with his wife Heather, as the drummer. In addition, he and Heather volunteer at the 18 South Youth Center. Vince has served with other leaders within DCFI to help plan youth retreats, boot-camps, and other events.

Vince was installed as an elder in March of 2008. He is also serving as an apprentice cell leader. Among the many outside (summer) activities, baseball is his favorite and he is proud to be a Yankees fan. Being from Puerto Rico – winter is not his favorite time to be outside – he would rather curl up on the couch and read some of his favorite comic books or practice his drums – with a heater near by, of course.

Heather Gomez

Heather joined in the ministry of her husband, Vince, when they were married in Dec. 2006. She graduated from Valley Forge Christian College with a B.S. in Urban Ministries. Presently she is employed full time as Therapeutic Support Staff in York County.

Prior to coming to DOVE Community Church in Red Lion – Heather was involved in youth ministry and worship in DOVE Lebanon, where her parents (Big Al and Becky Rainbow) give leadership as the Senior Elders. Heather comes from a rich heritage of ministry and is now carrying on the family blessing here in Red Lion. Currently she serves along side Vince as part of the Elder Team, gives leadership to our worship team and is part of the preaching team. Her hobbies include cooking, playing the guitar and watching movies.

We look forward to an exciting year – a year of anticipation and a year of expectation. Because this is the “Year of the Launch”, there is an expectation and anticipation of new ministries and of people fulfilling their call of God and using their gifts both in the temple and in the marketplace. We are looking forward to God sending new people with gifts and talents that will help continue the building process as prophesied.

In 2008 we celebrated our ten year anniversary.
Even more we celebrated the completion of our foundation and the time has come to build the house.

As you launch keep these 3 basic ministries in mind that are found in Luke 6.

1. Minister to the Father.
2. Minister to the people.
3. Minster to the disciples.

Who is your John?
If you want to grow spiritually – find a John.
In 2009 find someone who God has called you to mentor for the next generation.
Matt. 28:16-20. Go and make disciples.
It is time to take a step up and launch out in 2009.

II Timothy 2:2 Pour into a reproducing disciple.
The church will grow exponentially as each person ministers to only one person.

This church (DOVE CCC) is called to be a discipleship church – it has done it well and needs to continue building upon the foundation that has be laid.

DOVE Community Cell Church is definitely a call from God. This church has a purpose and a message – “to declare that the Kingdom of God is at hand and now available”. God is going to add to your numbers – others are on the way to get involved and continue the building project. This will still require sacrifice to see the Kingdom of God come to your sphere of influence. Don’t be afraid of sacrifice – God will use it – in His hands sacrifice is good building material.

When God gives a vision you must “keep on keeping on”. In this coming year – 2009 – Be persevering, steadfast and diligent. Don’t give into discouragement. Don’t give up and don’t give in – “keep on keeping on”.

Oswald Chambers stated in “My Utmost for His Highest” -
The Faith to Persevere. “Because you have kept My command to persevere …” (Revelation 3:10).

Perseverance means more than endurance—more than simply holding on until the end. A saint’s life is in the hands of God like a bow and arrow in the hands of an archer. God is aiming at something the saint cannot see, but our Lord continues to stretch and strain, and every once in a while the saint says, “I can’t take any more.” Yet God pays no attention; He goes on stretching until His purpose is in sight, and then He lets the arrow fly. Entrust yourself to God’s hands. Is there something in your life for which you need perseverance right now?

Maintain your intimate relationship with Jesus Christ through the perseverance of faith.
Proclaim as Job did, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him” (Job 13:15).

Individual and Corporate Goals for 2009

There are all kinds of really good churches in our region. Some churches are community type, immediate neighborhood churches and some more mega type. We bless and support all those who are being obedient to God and who are fulfilling their vision and purpose in advancing God’s Kingdom.

It is important for us to understand who we are and what is the vision and mission God has called us to. We are a home cell group based church that meets in the homes and corporately. We are not trying to duplicate what others are already doing or even trying to provide programs and services that are beyond the scope of our vision and resources. We believe we have a specific assignment that God wants us to fulfill. Even though we are based in Red Lion, our influence is rooted in the corners of York and Lancaster County. We have been called by God to influence a region.

What defines a region? For us it is more like a county and beyond – there are no man made boundaries to our region. We as elders have vision to plant and cultivate home cell groups and house churches in York County, York City and across the river into Lancaster County and City.

In addition – it is important to recognize and embrace our identity as a home cell group based church with a purpose toward personal growth and discipleship. Matt 28:16-20 instructs us to bring others in the Kingdom of God (under the rule and reign of Christ) and teach them the ways of Christ and His Kingdom.

Therefore, it is the desire of our leadership to create an environment/atmosphere where a covenant people who are unified in vision will become useful and fruitful through: discipleship, effective worship, living in hope, walking in holiness and being outwardly focused – extending invitations to the Kingdom to those who would benefit from knowing Jesus and by effectively serving our local communities in our region.

We understand that not all ministry occurs in the temple (Sunday mornings) and that in reality the majority of ministry takes place in the marketplace. Therefore, we recognize and support all those in our congregation who are involved in marketplace ministry that is involved in advancing the Kingdom of God in their sphere of influence.

The following are some Individual and corporate goals for this coming year to work toward. So as not to be overwhelmed it is suggested that you evaluate your life and discover those things that need attention immediately and those things that can be worked on throughout this coming year.

In 2009 – Let Us Embrace Our Identity and Bless God as:

A Covenant Community of Believers

• Obey God and step out in faith to do that which He has called us to do, both corporately and individually, trusting God for the outcome
• Improve our marriages – resolve conflicts quickly, seek counseling, pray together, worship together, improve communication skills, scheduled date nights, couple retreats, nights away, periodic surprises, etc.
• Embrace and honor our covenant relationships
• Find ways to serve and bless each other
• Choose to walk in forgiveness – do not hold grudges or keep a record of wrongs done – clear the slate completely and keep it clean
• Walk in freedom – inner healing and deliverance
• Establish a deeper more sincere and authentic devotional life that includes Bible reading, study and personal worship
• Be an authentic spirit filled witness of Christ (the real deal) in our spheres of influence that include: work, school, government, social groups, community, etc.

Home Cell Groups

• Develop new cell leaders and strategically plan to multiply new cells wherever God geographically directs
• Find someone to mentor and teach them to mentor someone else
• Discover ways to serve your local community
• Help members of the group discover and develop their gifts and talents
• Be sure all cell members are cared for, especially those who are sick
• Be the expression of the Kingdom in your neighborhood

A Congregation (Celebration)

• Read through the Bible in 1 year
• Establish and develop a vibrant youth ministry as a multi-generational ministry
• Establish and develop a vibrant children’s ministry
• Release the arts and creativity in our celebration and beyond
• Be a good steward of our facility
• Develop small groups apart from cell groups: Bible study and affinity type groups
• Pray together more as team of intercessors and petitioners
• Effective/Passionate Worship – freedom to express our thankfulness through extravagant worship and radical praise
• Increase and strengthen our leadership team and worship team
